UTSA hosts May 24 Chinese language conference

(May 20, 2008)--The UTSA Department of Bicultural Bilingual Studies will host the inaugural San Antonio Chinese Teachers Language Conference from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, May 24 in the Business Building University Room (2.06.04) on the 1604 Campus. The event will bring together public, private school and higher education Chinese language teachers from across the city.

UTSA researchers will share recent research findings and current teachers will share their programs, experiences and classroom strategies for effective Chinese language instruction. Wayne Wright, UTSA assistant professor of bicultural bilingual studies, is the keynote speaker for the event.
The event is a continuation of the College of Education and Human Development celebration of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) International Year of Languages.
