(July 24, 2008)--As television commercials shift from hawking sunscreen to three-ring binders on sale, we realize that the fall semester is just around the corner and soon will be front and center.
The first day of classes this fall at UTSA is Wednesday, Aug. 27, but before that, there is a lot going on around campus.

For starters, UTSA will welcome 35 new faculty members this fall. New faculty orientation begins Wednesday, Aug. 20 at the 1604 Campus and runs through Saturday when President Ricardo Romo concludes the orientation with a tour of downtown San Antonio.
Then, the UTSA community will greet new students during Roadrunner Days, Aug. 22-28, to give them a first taste of campus life. Students will begin moving back to campus on Friday, Aug. 22. With the recent completion of Phase II of Laurel Village, UTSA now will house 3,647 students on the 1604 Campus in four residential complexes.
And, on Monday, August 25, President Romo will lead the seventh annual academic Fall Convocation at 10 a.m. in the Campus Recreation Center. Plan to wear academic regalia or your orange-and-blue and attend with your colleagues.
