

University Center III, 1604 Campus -- new home for Subway
1604 Campus Subway moves to University Center III

(July 24, 2008)--The Subway restaurant in the University Center on the 1604 Campus will close Saturday, July 26 in order to move to the new University Center expansion, or UCIII. If construction goes as planned, the relocation across the sidewalk should be complete in time for a Monday, Aug. 11 opening. The entire UCIII is scheduled to open at the start of the fall semester.

Proposed hours for the new Subway are 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Monday-Thursday; 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Friday; closed Saturday and Sunday.
"We are excited about this and other upcoming improvements to dining facilities," said Jane Wilcox, director of business auxiliary services. "We appreciate everyone's patience during this construction period as we work to better serve the UTSA community."
The former location of Subway will be renovated and will become a full-service convenience store. ARAMARK, UTSA's dining services provider, will begin work Aug. 4 on the UC convenience store with a scheduled opening of Monday, Aug. 18. Proposed hours for the store are 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Monday-Thursday, and 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Friday.
During the Subway closure, several other dining venues will be available on the 1604 Campus:
- John Peace Library Building food court
8 a.m.-2 p.m., Monday-Friday - Einstein Bros. Bagels
Biotechnology, Sciences and Engineering Building
7 a.m.-2 p.m., Monday-Friday - Starbucks
University Center
7 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday - Roadrunner Café
Chaparral Village
(Monday-Friday)
Breakfast: 7-9 a.m.
Lunch: 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Dinner: 5-7 p.m.
