UTSA Police Department hosts National Night Out, Oct. 7

(Oct. 7, 2008)--The UTSA Police Department will host the 25th annual National Night Out at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7 at the Chaparral Village swimming pool. The UTSA community is invited to the crime prevention program to enjoy free food, giveaways, a drawing for a copy of "Lojack for Laptops" and a free screening of the movie, "Iron Man."

Additionally, police department representatives will be on hand for free engraving of electronics devices with the driver's license number.
The goal of National Night Out is to raise awareness of crime and drug prevention programs. The event strengthens neighborhood spirit and community-police partnerships, while sending the message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back against crime.
