(April 16, 2009)--Fiesta UTSA, an official Fiesta San Antonio event, set for 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Friday, April 17, will move to the Recreation Center at the Main Campus because of anticipated thunderstorms. The celebration on opening day of Fiesta San Antonio is free and open to the public.

The rain plan for the celebration will feature music by The French Kicks, recently featured in a story on Spin.com. Staged in the UTSA Recreation Center, the band will play two sets beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Fiesta royalty including King Antonio and El Rey Feo (The Ugly King) will attend a royalty reception hosted by UTSA President Ricardo Romo and will be invited to attend the concert event.

One of the nation's premier festivals, Fiesta San Antonio is April 16-26. The 10-day, citywide, fun-filled, multicultural, family-oriented celebration includes more than 100 events and is the biggest party and greatest community benefit in Texas.
