National Library Week events are April 14-15

(April 8, 2009)--The UTSA Library will host two events in celebration of National Library Week. Observed this year April 12-18, libraries across the country will promote their lifelong contributions to learning in academia and the community. The events are free and open to the public.

At Sombrilla Plaza on the Main Campus, UTSA Provost John Frederick will speak at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 14. The event begins at noon with music by a UTSA jazz group, along with free popcorn, beverages and drawings for two iPod Shuffles between noon and 1 p.m. Tickets for the drawings will be available at the event; participants must be present to win.

At the UTSA Downtown Campus, there will a celebration on the Frio Street Building patio at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 15. Library staff will serve popcorn and snow cones, and there will be a drawing between 11 a.m. and noon for an iPod Shuffle. Tickets for the drawing will be available at the event; participants must be present to win.
