UTSA students, faculty, staff can ride VIA free on routes 93, 94
(Aug. 12, 2009)--Traveling between the UTSA Downtown and Main campuses is easy, convenient and best of all -- it's free for students, faculty and staff taking VIA routes 93 and 94. Just show your UTSACard to the bus operator and you're good to go. The service is provided by UTSA through a prepaid bus service agreement with VIA Metropolitan Transit.
Route 93 (I-10-Crossroads-UTSA Express) buses run 6 a.m. to 10:55 p.m., Monday-Friday. The route 93 buses pick up and drop off riders at each campus. The approximate one-way travel time is 35-40 minutes. There are many other destinations along the way including University Park and Ride, Crossroads Park and Ride, and Downtown.
Route 94 (I-10-Fiesta Texas Express) buses run 5:41 a.m. to 11:25 p.m., Monday-Friday. Saturday and Sunday service hours are 5:40 a.m.-11:05 p.m. The approximate one-way travel time between the UTSA campuses is 30-35 minutes. Other destinations along route 94 include The Rim, Fiesta Texas, Crossroads Park and Ride, and Downtown.
A Semester Pass is only $35: If you're a student and taking other routes besides 93 and 94, the Semester Pass is an economical solution. The Semester Pass is valid for five months of unlimited rides for one semester. Semester Passes are sold at UTSA Fiscal Services and are available for fall and spring semesters only.
A VIA Monthly Big Pass is $30: UTSA faculty and staff using other routes can purchase the VIA Big Pass for $30 each month; students pay only $15. The monthly bus passes are available at all VIA Transit Centers, Park and Ride locations, most San Antonio H-E-B stores and other retail outlets.
