UTSA CMO committee approves increase in project management fees
(April 27, 2010)--The UTSA Campus Management and Operations (CMO) committee recently authorized an increase in the institutionally managed project fee from 3 percent of construction costs to 4 percent of total project costs.
The increase supports the oversight of approximately 200 institutional projects managed by the Facilities Engineering and Project Management team and is necessary to sustain appropriate project management staffing levels to effectively manage the large number of institutional projects.
The 4 percent total project cost is effective May 1 and will be applied to estimates received after April 30. However, it will not be collected until Sept. 1 unless otherwise requested by the customer. For example, if a project is estimated on May 1, 2010, and completed before FY 2011 begins (Sept. 1, 2010), the customer can request that Facilities collect from their accounts the increased amount before Sept. 1, 2010.
