University Excellence and Howe awards ceremony is April 13 at University Center
(April 8, 2010)--The University Excellence and Richard S. Howe Excellence in Service to Undergraduate Students Awards ceremony is 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 13 in the University Center Ballroom (1.104) on the Main Campus. The award winners will be announced Monday, April 12 on UTSA Today.
At the ceremony, UTSA employees who have reached milestones in their length of service with the university through 2009 will be recognized. Additionally, 2009 retirees were invited to the ceremony to be recognized and to receive a token gift of appreciation from the university.
The University Excellence Awards honor outstanding UTSA staff across the Tri-campuses who demonstrate excellent work performance. An award of $1,000 will accompany each of these awards:
- The Rising Star Award
- The Leadership Award
- The Team Spirit Award
- The Extra Mile Award
- The Order of the Roadrunner Award
Two Richard S. Howe Excellence in Service to Undergraduate Students Awards also will be presented at the ceremony. The award is presented to faculty and staff members who have shown exemplary commitment to UTSA undergraduates and have gone above and beyond the call of duty in service to UTSA undergraduate students. Each Howe award recipient will receive $2,000.

This event will acknowledge graduating seniors from the McNair Scholars program at UTSA before inducting the new cohort of scholars into the program.
