Faculty and staff: Submit nominations for UTSA Ambassadors by Dec. 10
(Nov. 19, 2010)--Help is needed from UTSA faculty and staff members in the annual recruitment of UTSA Ambassadors. Nominations will be accepted through Dec. 10 for outstanding second-semester freshmen, sophomore, junior, senior or graduate students for membership in the UTSA Ambassadors program.
UTSA Ambassadors volunteer more than 7,000 hours during the academic year serving as student hosts and tour guides, among other services at the Main, Downtown and HemisFair Park campuses. Ambassadors engage in a yearlong comprehensive training program including workshops in student leadership and communication skills, tour training, etiquette skills and committee work.
In making nominations, consider these qualities: scholarship (minimum 2.75 cumulative G.P.A.), leadership potential, participation in extracurricular and academic activities, and willingness to serve the university.
Nominees will complete an application form and participate in an individual interview. The new UTSA Ambassadors will be announced in late March 2011.
Nominations must be e-mailed by Dec. 10 to Pat Graham, UTSA executive director of special events. If necessary, nominators can attach additional pages for nominations.
