UTSA Volunteer Appreciation Day is April 13 at University Center paseo
(April 12, 2011)--The UTSA Inclusion and Community Engagement Center will host Volunteer Appreciation Day from 2 to 4 p.m., Wednesday, April 13 at the University Center paseo on the UTSA Main Campus. As part of National Volunteer Appreciation Week, the event is to thank UTSA students, faculty and staff for their service to the San Antonio community.
Any UTSA community member who has volunteered for one hour -- or dozens of hour -- in the last year is invited to celebrate with music, ice cream and giveaways.
UTSA students, student organizations, faculty and staff make a huge impact on the San Antonio community by giving thousands of hours to community agencies, neighborhood associations, schools, churches and other organizations.
Roadrunners recently gave back during UTSA United to Serve -- more than 400 students, faculty and staff volunteered with 14 community agencies in a variety of projects including building homes with Habitat for Humanity, planting trees with the City of San Antonio and sorting bags of books for children with San Antonio Youth Literacy, to name only a few.
For more information, contact the Inclusion and Community Engagement Center at 210-458-4770. The rain location for the event is the University Center ski lodge.
