(Aug. 29, 2011)--The UTSA community is invited to an open house at the Downtown Campus Library from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 30.

Faculty, staff and students can see the results of work done over the summer to modernize the library, as well as view new artwork installations including some pieces by San Antonio artists and including some giclee prints from the Cheech Marin Chicano Collection.

Improvements made over the summer to the Downtown Library include a reconfigured floor plan, a more intuitive shelving layout, new study furniture and a display area for a new popular reading section.

The open house will feature remarks by John Frederick, UTSA provost and vice president for academic affairs, and Jesse Zapata, UTSA vice provost for the Downtown Campus. Light refreshments will be served.
