View College Signing Day live video stream May 2 at H-E-B UC ballroom
(April 30, 2014) -- The UTSA community will have the opportunity to watch a live viewing of the College Signing Day ceremony May 2 featuring UTSA President Ricardo Romo, Mayor Julian Castro and a keynote address by first lady Michelle Obama.
>> The live screening is 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Friday, May 2 in H-E-B University Center Ballroom 1 and is open to the UTSA community. Refreshments will be available at the screening.
To demonstrate national support for higher education, the first lady is encouraging people across the country to join in this movement and on Friday, May 2 share photos of themselves in college apparel on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vine and across additional social media platforms using the hashtag #ReachHigher.
UTSA is hosting the College Signing Day event presented by Destination College. The Convocation Center will be filled with area high school seniors, who will celebrate their commitment to attending college.
College Signing Day is part of Destination College, a week of free events started during the tenure of Mayor Castro to celebrate San Antonio as both a college town and a college-going town.
San Antonio is one of the top college destinations in Texas with more than 150,000 students enrolled in a variety of colleges and universities. College Week is a component of the San Antonio Education Partnership, which has the goal of equipping students for college success.
