UTSA Roadrunner Days: Events schedule for Wednesday, Aug. 27
(Aug. 27, 2014) -- Today's special events during UTSA Roadrunner Days include the President's BBQ on the Plaza, President's BBQ on the Lawn, Student Leadership Center ribbon cutting, Roadrunner statue dedication and the Howdy Rowdy Bash.
The official kick-off of the new academic year, UTSA Roadrunner Days continues through Aug. 29 at the Main and Downtown campuses. The events and activities give students an opportunity to take part in time-honored UTSA traditions and connect with UTSA resources.
Here's what's going on today:
President's BBQ on the Plaza
11 a.m.-1 p.m., Bill Miller Plaza, Downtown Campus
Student Leadership Center Ribbon Cutting and LeaderShape Reunion
2-4 p.m., University Center Room 1.00.40 (on the UC Paseo next to Rio's)
Roadrunner Statue Dedication
4-5 p.m., Central Plaza adjacent to Sombrilla Plaza
President's BBQ on the Lawn
5-7 p.m., Convocation Center east lawn, Main Campus
Howdy Rowdy Bash
7-9 p.m., Central Plaza and Sombrilla Plaza, Main Campus

This event will acknowledge graduating seniors from the McNair Scholars program at UTSA before inducting the new cohort of scholars into the program.

Arts Building Recital Hall, Main CampusRoadrunner Walk is an event for graduating students to have a memorable walk on campus to celebrate an important milestone and their achievements. Graduates will walk along the Paseo while being celebrated by the UTSA community, friends, and family members.
