Roadrunners invited to give back during Homecoming Week 2014
(Sept. 30, 2014) -- UTSA students, faculty, staff, and alumni are invited to volunteer at the San Antonio Food Bank (SAFB) during Roadrunners Give Back, the official UTSA Homecoming service project. The event will be 1-3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 5, the first day of Homecoming Week.
The San Antonio Food Bank provides groceries to more than 500 partner agencies in 16 counties throughout Southwest Texas. Through food distribution, programs, education and advocacy, the SAFB mission to fight hunger in Southwest Texas is accomplished.
Last year, UTSA students and alumni sorted 25,705 pounds of food, which provided 20,082 meals to Southwest Texas communities. This event is in keeping with the tradition set during the first Football Homecoming Week in 2011.
