Extreme Makeover UTSA Edition beautification project is Sept. 26
(Sept. 17, 2014) -- The UTSA community is invited to register to volunteer for the university's annual beautification project, "Extreme Makeover: UTSA Edition," which will be 8 a.m.-3 p.m., Friday, Sept. 26 on the Main Campus.
The event is coordinated by UTSA student organization Volunteer Organization Involving Community Education and Service (VOICES) and is in partnership with departments on the Main Campus. The projects give students, staff and faculty an opportunity to demonstrate school pride by working on beautification projects across campus.
Last year, more than 270 UTSA participants helped enhance the appearance of the Main Campus through projects including gardening, creating granite pathways and installing bike racks near the University Center.
Some of this year's projects include cigarette cleanup and awareness education booths, trash pick-up, parking garage cleanup and landscaping the UTSA Biosciences Building.
