(Oct. 22, 2014) -- The National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA) membership has selected UTSA Director of Athletics Lynn Hickey as incoming NACWAA president-elect and executive committee member.
The four-year board term began when elected candidates were announced at the recent NACWAA national convention in Louisville.
Under Hickey's direction since 2000, UTSA has captured three conference commissioner's cups and a pair of league all-sports trophies while consistently winning both team and individual academic and athletics awards in all 17 sports.
Hickey has overseen the addition of three sports during her tenure: football, women's golf and women's soccer. Hickey came to San Antonio from Texas A&M, where she served as senior associate athletics director/senior woman administrator. Previously, she was head women's basketball coach at Texas A&M and at Kansas State.
The National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators (NACWAA) is the premier leadership organization that empowers, develops, assists, celebrates, affirms, involves and honors women working in all fields of intercollegiate athletics. NACWAA takes a pro-active role in advancing women into positions of influence and powerfully shapes the landscape of women leaders.
