UTSA and Univision host Education Fair Oct. 4 at H-E-B University Center
(Oct. 2, 2014) -- Univision TV San Antonio and UTSA will host the inaugural Univision Education Fair (Feria de Educación) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 4 in the H-E-B University Center on the UTSA Main Campus. The goal is to introduce more Latino students and their families to higher education through an information fair, panel discussion and workshops. The event is free and open to the public with a focus on parents, children and teachers.
There will be information on colleges and universities, grades K-12, scholarships, financial aid, programs for students with special needs, immigration services and more. Free books and literature will be distributed at the information fair.
The event will open at 10 a.m. with a brief ceremony, followed by an education town hall at 10:30 a.m. Guest panelists and experts will discuss the tools that helped them achieve success, inspirational stories, challenges along the way and their goals for the future. An education information fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the H-E-B University Center ballroom. Workshops are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the University Center.

- Achieving Your Dream: DREAMERS in the College Setting
- The State's New High School Graduation Plan
- Financial Aid 101
- Scholarships: Free Money for College
- Navigating the K-12 Educational System
- Pathways to Careers: Certificates, Associate's, Bachelor's
- How to Contribute to Your Child's Success
- What is STEM?
