Win $1,000 in UTSA's first-ever 'elevator pitch' competition Nov. 7
(Nov. 5, 2014) -- The Collegiate Entrepreneurship Organization and Toastmasters will host UTSA's first-ever Elevator Pitch Competition for faculty and students from 1 to 3 p.m., Friday, Nov. 7 in Business Building Room 2.01.02 on the UTSA Main Campus. Participation in the competition is free, and attendance is free and open to the public.
The term "elevator pitch" captures the ability of an entrepreneur to have his or her business concept down so tightly and effectively that he or she could walk into a hypothetical elevator and deliver it to a potential investor within the time span of an elevator ride.
UTSA contestants will have 90 seconds to pitch their groundbreaking ideas and win $1,000. Cash prizes for second and third place also are up for grabs, as well as a chance to network with business professionals who will be in attendance. Audience members will decide upon the competition winners.
The UTSA Pitch Competition is sponsored by the Center for Innovation and Technology Entrepreneurship (CITE), an interdisciplinary center in the UTSA College of Business and College of Engineering. CITE was established in 2006 to create a pipeline for UTSA faculty, students and the business community to collaborate in developing new technology ventures.
