UTSA Student Leadership Center Roadrunner of the Month: Cy Fondal
(Dec. 18, 2014) -- The UTSA Student Leadership Center announces UTSA student Cy Fondal as Roadrunner of the Month and winner of the Dean of Students Outstanding Leadership Award for November. Fondal was nominated by Andrew Chadick, assistant director of intramural sports.
The Houston native and J. Frank Dobie High School graduate is a senior business management major. He is captain of the UTSA cheer team and a member of the Campus Recreation Student Management team. After graduation, he plans to continue his education in attaining a master's degree in business administration.
While serving as an intramural sports supervisor, Fondal mentored students, emphasizing the value of their performance both on and off the field. He recently was recognized as the second-ranked flag football official in greater San Antonio.
"Cy Fondal should be recognized as Roadrunner of the Month for his dedication and hard work for multiple UTSA programs," said Chadick.
"Leadership to me is not a word, it is an action," said Fondal. "My main goal as a leader is to always prepare the next person in line to take my spot. As a leader, I want to inspire others and help them reach their full potential as I strive every day to reach mine. Wherever I am a leader, I want to have someone ready to step up as if I never left."
