Venesa received a B.A. in Sociology from St. Mary’s University in 1995 and went on to receive her M.A. in Communication Studies two years later. There, she taught a freshmen course on academic/personal development and worked in student activities & orientation programs. After graduate school, Venesa landed a res life position at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. As a house advisor, two of her “other duties as assigned” included being academic advisor to a small group of new students and organizing a residential pilot program for freshmen. Venesa also lived in San Diego, California for a few years and worked at a non-profit, community-based youth mentoring program. Once back in San Antonio, she continued in the non-profit sector and also took time off to raise her two young sons. In 2008, she decided to return to higher education and found the ideal job as an ADP academic advisor. When Venesa isn’t at work she enjoys being Mom to her two boys, traveling, concerts and indie films.
