Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Grades 4–8 Language Arts/Reading/Social Studies Certification Concentration)
The minimum number of semester credit hours required for the IDS degree with Grades 4–8 Language Arts/Reading/Social Studies certification is 126, at least 39 of which must be at the upper-division level.
Core Curriculum Requirements (42 semester credit hours)
Students seeking the Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with teacher certification must fulfill University Core Curriculum requirements. The courses listed below satisfy both degree requirements and Core Curriculum requirements. MAT 1023 should be used to satisfy the core requirement in Mathematics. BIO 1233 is recommended to satisfy the Level One core requirement in Natural Sciences. IDS 2303 or IDS 2313 is recommended to satisfy the core requirement in Literature. HIS 1053 and HIS 2053 are recommended to satisfy the core requirement in United States History and Diversity. POL 1133 is recommended to satisfy a core requirement in Political Science. IDS 2113 should be used to satisfy the core requirement in Social and Behavioral Science. ECO 2003 is recommended to satisfy the core requirement in Economics. IDS 2213 is recommended to satisfy the core requirement in World Society and Issues.
