Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music
The minimum number of semester credit hours required for this degree, including the Core Curriculum requirements, is 120. Thirty-nine of the total semester credit hours required for the degree must be at the upper-division level.
All candidates for this degree must fulfill the Core Curriculum requirements and the music degree requirements, which are listed below.
Core Curriculum Requirements (42 semester credit hours)
Students seeking the Bachelor of Arts degree in Music must fulfill University Core Curriculum requirements in the same manner as other students. The course listed below will satisfy both degree requirements and Core Curriculum requirements; however, if this course is taken to satisfy both requirements, then students may need to take an additional course in order to meet the minimum number of semester credit hours required for this degree. MUS 2243 may be used to satisfy the core requirement in Visual and Performing Arts as well as a major requirement.

Ensemble (4–8 semester credit hours)
Four semesters as assigned by the ensemble directors, to include at least two semesters of Directed Ensemble (1–2 hours per semester). Details for ensemble requirements are listed in the Department of Music Student Handbook. - 22–26 semester credit hours of electives, of which 6 semester credit hours must be at the upper-division level. A minimum of 12 semester credit hours must be outside music. Courses are chosen in consultation with the student’s advisor.
