President's Welcome to Veteran Students

Welcome to the University of Texas at San Antonio, one of the fastest growing universities in Texas with the most dynamic "Veteran Friendly" campus in the state.

We are glad you are considering UTSA! We thank you for your service; and that commitment you made to this country - we now make to you.

Your potential here at UTSA is immeasurable; you have proven yourself time and again in your profession; now it is our turn to prove to you, you can become even more than you ever thought possible.

From the military perspective, the service provided you a safety net, a very comfortable feeling of security, someone you could turn to and something you could be part of, bigger than yourself. We at UTSA strive to provide you that same safety net through our counselors, partnership with United Way, Veterans Support Group, VA Certification, Student Veterans Association and our Veterans Task Force.

From an academic perspective, with over 30,000 students, 3 campuses, 8 colleges, a wide variety of graduate and undergraduate courses, and over 40 years of offering a world-class education, taught by many world renowned faculty, we can offer each of you priceless career development opportunities in areas of research, academic excellence, community relations and international outreach.

Our Main Campus is located on 725 acres at the foot of the Texas Hill Country. The Downtown Campus is located near the heart of the San Antonio business district. The Institute of Texan Cultures, located at UTSA's HemisFair Park campus, is a unique state museum and educational center featuring the cultural histories and traditions of Texas. It is located near San Antonio's famed River Walk.

I invite you to take a cyber visit or come and see us in person, talk to our veterans and experience UTSA, a diverse campus with a 21st century purpose that is creating knowledge, developing leaders, serving society and enriching lives now and for the future.
