Climate Change in Extreme Environments Weekly Lecture Series
September 17–October 22, 2020
The Academy of Learning in Retirement (ALIR) is a San Antonio based non profit that offers life-long learning courses to any resident over age 50. Over 800 seniors enroll in courses that range from academic courses to painting and art classes, to exercise and recreation.
For Fall 2020, as part of CAMEE's outreach, a 6-week lecture course series on Climate Change in Extreme Environments will be given by CAMEE faculty, covering wildland forest fires, hurricanes, glaciers and climate in the Tibetan Plateau, polar sea ice and ice sheets, and urban heat islands and climate.
Virtual lectures will occur via Zoom on Thursdays from 12-1 pm. The meeting room will be open to join at 11:45 am.
