President's Office


Kathryn E. Keeton, PhD
Leading Texas' third-largest public research university, the Office of the President at UT San Antonio drives the institution’s strategic direction and future trajectory in partnership with all academic and administrative divisions. Under the leadership of President Taylor Eighmy, the office champions UT San Antonio’s expanding research and health enterprise while advancing student success, workforce readiness and economic development. With oversight of critical areas including compliance, risk management, audit and legal affairs, the president’s office ensures the integrity and momentum of UT San Antonio’s transformative mission.
Academic Affairs

Academic Affairs advances a high-quality experience for all students, both in and out of the classroom. It's focus is on the success of our students, supporting their academic path to graduation and preparing them for what is next — landing their first job in a rewarding career, pursuing further study in graduate school or strengthening our community through public service.
Advancement and Alumni Engagement

UT San Antonio Advancement and Alumni Engagement drives successful fundraising and alumni engagement. It cultivates relationships across the public and private sectors, strengthening UT San Antonio’s partnerships and reputation among key stakeholders. It creates philanthropic opportunities that advance excellence in education, discovery and commercialization, health, public service and community engagement while also maintaining strong ties with alumni. Together with alumni and donor support, Advancement and Alumni Engagement strives to make lives better.
Athletics

UTSA Athletics offers 17 sports at the NCAA Division I level. UTSA Athletics develops champions in the classroom, in competition and in life. It serves as an integral part of the Roadrunner student experience while enhancing the visibility of the university and engaging the community.
Governmental Relations

The Office of Governmental Relations has the primary responsibility to communicate with all local, state and federally elected officials and their offices regarding UT San Antonio’s present and future legislative funding and policy priorities. In collaboration with UT System Offices of Government Relations, the office monitors legislation related to higher education and provides information to policy makers regarding the impact of these and other policy proposals. Additionally, Governmental Relations fosters strong partnerships with government agencies, civic leaders and the broader community to advance the interests of the university.
Health Affairs and Health System

Francisco Cigarroa, MD
Health Affairs and Health System leads the university’s efforts to improve health and well-being through excellence in education, clinical care and community engagement. With a focus on preparing future health professionals and advancing innovative care models, the division integrates the strengths of health-related schools and clinical operations to serve patients, train the next generation of providers and contribute to a healthier society.
Legal Affairs and Risk Management

The Office of Legal Affairs provides trusted legal counsel across the unified university, supporting leadership and operations through timely, thorough and solution-oriented advice. Serving as a strategic partner, the office addresses a broad range of legal matters, including governance, transactions, compliance and litigation.
Marketing, Communications and Media

Heather Adkins, MS
The Office of Marketing, Communications and Public Affairs amplifies impact, elevates visibility and drives engagement through brand and marketing strategy, brand journalism/communications and content strategy, and external relations. Serving as a collaborative partner to the university’s administrative, academic and health units, it's work spans brand strategy, clear communications, compelling messaging and institutional storytelling, digital engagement and public affairs — all aligned to elevate our institution’s visibility and support its mission in education, research and discovery and care. We reach and engage diverse audiences through coordinated outreach and a dynamic ecosystem of digital and physical platforms — connecting people with the power, purpose and promise of UT San Antonio.
Operations and Administration

Andrea Marks leads operations, finance and administration for UT Health San Antonio. She provides leadership and strategic direction for the new university’s entire business, finance and operational functions, ensuring alignment with the vision and long-range plan for our integrated institution.

Veronica Salazar, MBA
Veronica Salazar leads Business Affairs at UT San Antonio. She oversees enterprise development and transformation — driving strategic growth initiatives, identifying new market opportunities and building key partnerships to support the university’s long-term goals. She leads UT San Antonio’s Integration Management Office, which assesses operations and business functions across our university and Health Science Center.

Jennifer Sharpe Potter, PhD
UT San Antonio Research fosters an innovative ecosystem that is accelerating transdisciplinary research and economic development through creative discovery by producing responsible and transformative outcomes to benefit our diverse communities. Promoting all aspects of research and scholarly work, UT San Antonio Research ensures all have the resources and support to develop and manage their research portfolios.
