"From Basic to Translational Research: Promoting Interdisciplinary Collaboration in the Sciences"
The UTSA RCMI program held an Open House from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in conjunction with the UTSA College of Sciences Research Conference. Over 450 people attended the day-long conference which showcased 45 oral and 251 poster presentations. During the event, two RCMI Research Cores provided tours of their facility to student groups. The Rising Researchers Freshman Seminar students, a group of 17 college freshmen under the aegis of the RISE program, toured the RCMI Nanotechnology and Human Health Core. Thirty-five seniors from John Jay High School's Microbiology class toured the RCMI Biophotonics Core. Both tours were highly successful and the students in each group were favorably impressed.
