Future Founders' Society

The UTSA Future Founders’ Pledge gives company founders, equity holders, and investors a way to join their peers in making a nonbinding commitment to give back to UTSA when they attain success. Alumni who take the Future Founders’ Pledge have full control over the timing, amount, and designation of their gift; support can be directed to any school or program on campus and does not need to be designated until the time the gift is made. Taking the pledge is an easy, rewarding way to join a cohort of fellow entrepreneurial UTSA alumni from the earliest days of their business venture.

Once you’re ready to take the pledge, simply complete the Future Founder's Agreement form below or contact us at founderspledge@UTSA.edu to reach one of our program directors directly. When the timing is right for you—for example, after your company’s IPO, acquisition, or steady revenue growth—contact us to arrange a gift of cash or stock. We can connect you to a gift planning expert who will help your financial and tax advisers determine whether a gift of cash vs. stock is preferable to you. We will also help you explore a designation for your gift, such as scholarships, study abroad, an entrepreneurial fund, or a particular school or research area.

When you make a commitment to UTSA as part of the Future Founders’ Pledge, you join an exclusive community of San Antonio entrepreneurs and leaders. You have the satisfaction of aligning your philanthropic goals with your business success.  You also gain access to the Future Founders’ Pledge network, a team of UTSA faculty and staff who can connect you to a broad spectrum of UTSA resources and expertise.

There is no specific dollar amount or equity percentage commitment required to join the Future Founder’s Society. Your gift should be personally significant, depending on your unique situation and goals for the impact you want to have at UTSA and San Antonio—and you may designate it to the areas of campus you love most.

Yes, you may direct your gift to any school or program, or use it to help create an entirely new program. When you take your pledge, you can identify areas or topics of potential interest; we will help you explore your philanthropic goals over time.

There are no tax ramifications associated with taking the pledge; tax considerations come into play when you make a gift to UTSA. We always recommend that donors consult with their own financial advisers to fully understand the tax implications for any gift, given their specific circumstances. We can arrange a conversation with one of our planned giving experts to provide additional information.

Upon taking the Future Founders’ Pledge, you immediately become a member of the Founders’ Society, an exclusive community of UTSA entrepreneurs who have pledged to share their wealth.
