Task Force launch features talk by David Laude

November 15, 2017

The Student Success Task Force launched on Monday, October 30, 2017 with a talk by David Laude, professor of chemistry at UT Austin. Laude, who is a member of the UT Academy of Distinguished Teachers and formerly served as the university's senior vice provost for enrollment and graduation management, spoke about the role faculty play in student success. His work has been featured in the New York Times.

On November 8 and 9, consultants from education research and technology company EAB (formerly Education Advisory Board), which was hired to assist the task force, met with UTSA students, faculty and staff in a series of diagnostic meetings. The EAB consultants also met with the entire task force and led members through an exercise to identify barriers to student success and existing student success programming at UTSA. EAB will audit current programs and identify other areas to help continue the progress UTSA has made in graduation and retention rates.
