TELEPHONE BILLING RATES
Welcome to Telephone Services Billing! Here, you will find information about the costs associated with various telephone and communication services provided by UTSA Tech Solutions. We aim to provide transparency and clarity regarding the services you use and their corresponding fees.
All telephone services are billed annually, with charges based on the services you are subscribed to. Below is a list of common services and their associated rates for the current and upcoming fiscal years.
SERVICE RATES FOR FY26, FY27, and FY28
Single-line Extension (campus, local, and long distance calling)
- FY26 Cost: $305/year (per extension)
- FY27 Cost: $305/year (per extension)
- FY28 Cost: $315/year (per extension)
The single-line extension cost covers your basic phone line and its usage for voice calls. This fee includes the monthly service charge for the phone line itself including voicemail but does not include additional services.
CONTACT CENTER AGENT
- Cost: Included in the single-line extension cost
All Contact Center agents must have an assigned 4-digit UTSA telephone number in order to be provisioned as a Contact Center Agent in Cisco Contact Center Express.
411 SERVICE
- Cost: $1.50/month
The 411 directory assistance service allows users to obtain phone numbers and directory information. Charges apply for each directory assistance request.
555-1212 SERVICE
- Cost: $1.99/month
The 555-1212 service provides access to a toll-free, nationwide directory assistance number for general inquiries and contact information. Charges apply for each request made.
VOICEMAIL SERVICE
- Cost: No charge; Must have approval
Voicemail services are available at no cost for faculty, staff, and departments; however, approval is required to activate voicemail on your extension. Please contact your department/unit head or their administrative designee for approval.
LONG DISTANCE SERVICE
- Cost: Included in the single-line extension cost
Long distance charges are bundled with the cost of your single-line extension service. There are no additional monthly fees for long-distance calls within the continental U.S. International and premium-rate calls may incur additional charges.
INTERNATIONAL & PREMIUM RATE CALLS SERVICE
- Cost: Charges based on monthly usage; Must have approval

CALL HANDLER SERVICE
- Cost: No charge; Must have approval
Call Handler services, which provide automated answering and call routing (such as auto-attendant services), are available at no additional cost. However, approval is required for setup. Please submit a catalog request via the UTS Self-Service Portal to request and configure this service.
AUTHORIZATION CODE SERVICE
- Cost: Included in the single-line extension cost
The Authorization Code service, which provides users with unique codes for placing long-distance calls or accessing specific features, is included in the cost of the single-line extension.
800 TOLL FREE SERVICE
- Cost: Submit an AT&T Service ticket via the UTS Self-Service Portal for an estimate
This service creates a Toll-Free 800 number and points that number to a UTSA telephone number. Specific toll-free numbers may be requested, if available.
DSL SERVICE
- Estimated Cost: Submit an UTS ticket via the UTS Self-Service Portal for an estimate
For an estimate of DSL service costs, please submit a request through the UTS Self-Service Portal. This service provides high-speed internet access, and the cost will depend on the specific service plan and location.
ISDN LINE SERVICE
- Estimated Cost: Submit an UTS ticket via the UTS Self-Service Portal for an estimate
For ISDN line services (Integrated Services Digital Network), please submit a request through the UTS Self-Service Portal. The cost for this service will depend on the specific line configuration and requirements for your department or use case.
