(Aug. 23, 2019) -- A new season has begun at UTSA. Roadrunner Days starts today, kicking off the 2019-20 school year with a 16-day celebration of fun, engaging activities to guide new and returning students into a successful academic year.

This year, UTSA welcomes new freshman and transfer students to Roadrunner Nation. They will take part in time-honored UTSA traditions, learn about valuable UTSA resources, meet new friends and make memories that will last a lifetime, all important foundations to enhance the exceptional student experience UTSA fosters.
Here’s what’s going on during Roadrunner Days this Friday, Saturday and Sunday:
Residence Hall Move-In
Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Laurel Village, Chaparral Village and Alvarez Hall, Main Campus
Thousands of excited students and their families will make themselves at home in UTSA’s residence halls. UTSA staff and student leaders will be on hand to help new Roadrunners every step of the way.
Rowdy’s Stop and Go
Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m,, Laurel Village, Chaparral Village and Alvarez Hall, Main Campus
Take a break during move-in to have a snack and drink at this new Roadrunner Days spot. Students and families can also get campus information from university staff. Just look for the UTSA tents and flags.
Spirit of San Antonio (SOSA) Premiere
Friday, 7:30 p.m., Student Union Paseo, Main Campus
Students and their families will get into the Roadrunner spirit as the 350+ member ensemble makes their 2019-20 debut. Just follow the music.
Late Night at the Rec
Saturday, 9 p.m. to midnight, Recreation Wellness Center, Main Campus
A Roadrunner Days favorite, students will have fun participating in and learning about programs and facilities offered at the Recreation and Wellness Center, or Campus Rec for short.
Personalized Class Location Tours
Sunday, 3 to 5 p.m., McKinney Humanities Building Portico, Main Campus
Never get lost on campus with the help of the UTSA Ambassadors. Students should bring their class schedule and ambassadors will help them navigate the campus to find their classes.
Kickback at the Union
Sunday, 5 to 8 p.m., Student Union Paseo and Student Union Buildings, Main Campus
This welcome back tradition for new and returning Roadrunners is a chance to relax and learn about all of the services available within the Student Union. Come enjoy free food, games, photo booth, The Roost Game Room, and a chance to connect with each department in the Union. Arrive early for free t-shirts. Additionally, the Student Union Food Court will offer $1 deals all day.
UCinema – Avengers: Endgame
Sunday, 8 to 11 p.m., Student Union Retama Auditorium (SU 2.02.02), Main Campus
Following Kickback, grab a friend and sit back and enjoy the Marvel hit of the year.
UTSA Midnight Light
Sunday, 11:30 p.m., John Peace Blvd. entrance, Main Campus
The day is ending but the fun continues during one of UTSA’s biggest and brightest traditions. Students, faculty and staff together to show their Roadrunner spirit as the university lights up the Monuments, signifying the start of the 2019-20 academic year. The late night pep rally also features music, fireworks and fellowship.

Covidence is a systematic & scoping review tool used to streamline the process of screening and reviewing articles. Using this software, research teams can easily import studies, perform automatic deduplication, and extract data using templates. This workshop will show attendees how to start a review in Covidence, add collaborators, and get started on screening.
Virtual (Zoom)In this workshop, attendees will be introduced to Pandas, a Python tool for working with data easily. It makes it simple to organize and analyze information when data is organized and categorized, like spreadsheets or tables.
Group Spot B, John Peace LibraryEach fall and spring semester, students convene at the Main Campus at UTSA with booths, ideas and prototypes. A crowd of judges, local organizations, students, faculty and sponsors walk around and talk to the students about their projects and ask questions. Students get the real-life experience of "pitching" their project with hopes of getting funding or support to move to the next level.
