President Eighmy welcomes back Roadrunner community for spring semester

President Eighmy welcomes back Roadrunner community for spring semester

JANUARY 17, 2024 — Editor’s note: The following message was sent today via email from President Taylor Eighmy to all faculty and staff.

Welcome back to campus! I hope you had a restful winter break and are ready to tackle the challenges and embrace the opportunities this semester will present.

There are so many incredible advancements taking place at UTSA, and we have much to look forward to this spring, including:

  • Progress updates by our Campus Experience Task Force regarding their continued work to advance UTSA as an innovative place to work, learn and discover.
  • Supporting our student-athletes during spring season sports, including basketball, tennis, softball, golf and track.
  • Building on the success of our Be Bold campaign, which has already raised $380 million of our $500 million goal at the midway point, enabling the addition of 92 endowed faculty positions.

I’d also like to personally invite you to join me at this year’s State of the University address at 9 a.m. on Monday, January 22, at the Buena Vista Theater. During the program, I’ll reflect on how far we’ve come in the last year, share my vision for where we’re going next and moderate a panel discussion among peers regarding the future of UTSA. I hope you can join us.

As always, I wish you all much health and success in the new year and look forward to seeing you around campus.
