APRIL 14, 2025 — The 2025 U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Programs list highlights UTSA's growing reputation as a premier destination for graduate students seeking opportunities, excellence, and a focus on student success and advancement.
As a Tier One research institution, UTSA provides students with advanced knowledge, practical experience and career-ready skills. The university’s inclusion in U.S. News & World Report’s rankings underscores its ongoing intentionality and success in developing innovative academic programs, pioneering research and fostering student achievement.
The UTSA College of Education and Human Development (COEHD) is ranked No. 114 of 473 ranked institutions, advancing from its position at No. 122 in 2024. COEHD is celebrated for developing skilled educators and health professionals who are prepared to meet both local and global needs.

The UTSA College of Education and Human Development prepares future educators, community leaders, scholars, practitioners, counselors, clinicians, community activists and research professionals to become job ready. With over 10 certificate programs, the college’s Office of Professional Preparation and Partnerships (OPPP) facilitates the certification and accreditation processes that prepare COEHD students for successful careers. Graduate students in COEHD also benefit from innovative grants and training programs that offer valuable research experience and empower their pursuit of knowledge.

Engineering – No. 136 (tie) of 223 ranked institutions: The UTSA Margie and Bill Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design (KCEID) was recognized for its excellence in various engineering disciplines, including biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, electrical, environmental and mechanical engineering. KCEID students learn to identify and solve grand challenges where humanity intersects the physical world, cultivating a diverse and resilient community that develops innovative solutions through exploration and research.
Computer Science – No. 120 (tie) of 210 ranked institutions: The UTSA College of Sciences (COS) offers a highly regarded M.S. in Computer Science with specializations in cybersecurity, software engineering, data science and artificial intelligence. The program is at the forefront of technological innovation, preparing students for impactful careers in a rapidly evolving field. English – No. 131 (tie) of 156 ranked institutions: The UTSA College of Liberal and Fine Arts (COLFA) is celebrated for its English program, which enhances cross-cultural understanding, fosters critical thinking, and enhances literary analysis. COLFA is dedicated to exploring, understanding, and representing the human experience, offering students a rich educational experience that spans the globe and addresses pressing social, economic and environmental challenges.
Psychology – No. 165 (tie) of 303 ranked institutions: The UTSA College for Health, Community and Policy (HCAP) offers a comprehensive psychology program dedicated to studying the intricacies of the human experience. The college's interdisciplinary approach ensures that students gain a holistic understanding of public health, criminology, nutrition and sociology, preparing them for impactful careers in various sectors.
Public Affairs – No. 144 (tie) of 268 ranked institutions: The UTSA Master of Public Administration program, also in HCAP, combines academics with practical experience, preparing leaders for careers in public and nonprofit sectors. The program develops leaders who can effectively address public policy challenges and serve their communities.

In Fall 2025, the UTSA College of AI, Cyber, and Computing will be the newest expansion of the university. Sombrilla Plaza, Main CampusCovidence is a systematic & scoping review tool used to streamline the process of screening and reviewing articles. Using this software, research teams can easily import studies, perform automatic deduplication, and extract data using templates. This workshop will show attendees how to start a review in Covidence, add collaborators, and get started on screening.
Virtual (Zoom)In this workshop, attendees will be introduced to Pandas, a Python tool for working with data easily. It makes it simple to organize and analyze information when data is organized and categorized, like spreadsheets or tables.
Group Spot B, John Peace LibraryEach fall and spring semester, students convene at the Main Campus at UTSA with booths, ideas and prototypes. A crowd of judges, local organizations, students, faculty and sponsors walk around and talk to the students about their projects and ask questions. Students get the real-life experience of "pitching" their project with hopes of getting funding or support to move to the next level.
