Students look at bones during the Archaeology 101 & 201 Summer Camps.
APRIL 21, 2025 — With the close of the spring semester just weeks away, preparations for summer programs at UTSA are in full swing. Beginning as early as June, a wide range of camps will be available for children from kindergarten through high school, as well as for young adults.
These programs cater to diverse interests—including science, engineering, architecture, athletics, music and creative writing—giving participants the chance to explore new passions in an engaging environment. Campers will interact with UTSA’s dedicated faculty, staff and students, all while enjoying hands-on experiences and creating lasting memories. In addition to offering fun and learning, the camps support UTSA’s commitment to nurturing a college-going mindset across the San Antonio community by welcoming participants to explore the university’s campuses.
Throughout the summer, UTSA will offer half-day and full-day camps at its Main, Downtown and Southwest locations. Some programs will span a few days, while others extend over several weeks.
The camp exposes rising high school juniors, rising seniors and incoming college freshmen to the criminal justice system. Students will have opportunities to learn the functions of police in society, apply scientific theories to criminal investigations by examining a mock crime scene, and visit the Federal and County Courthouses, Bexar County Emergency Management Office and SAPD Public Safety Headquarters.
Summer Career Academy in Architecture and Interior Design
These in-person camps introduce high schoolers to the educational tools that architects and interior designers use and to the wide variety of careers available. Campers can choose from a variety of programs, including the Rocketry and Robotics Camp and a How It’s Made program for budding engineers. Plus, they will gain hands-on insight from UTSA's faculty.
