What is newsworthy?

Generally, a story must have some unique aspect to warrant attention. For example, this could be a scientific breakthrough, an exceptionally large donation, appointment of a well-known scholar, or a significant event or development.

Stories should be timely. If the story is about an event that occurred several weeks or a month ago, this would not be newsworthy. UTSA Today does not accept stories more than five days after an event.
