Students, faculty and staff are invited to join UTSA's delegation at the 28th annual César E. Chávez March for Justice in downtown San Antonio. Take advantage of free shuttle transportation from the Main and Downtown Campuses, or plan to meet us there! UTSA's Westside Community Center—located just a few steps away from the march's starting point—will serve as our meetup location and provide breakfast refreshments, a historical pop-up display and more.

San Antonio's César E. Chávez March for Justice brings thousands together in unity every year to pay tribute to the life and legacy of the great labor leader and civil rights activist.

8:30 AMUTSA Westside Community Center Opens
UTSA marchers are invited to meet at the Westside Community Center to enjoy breakfast refreshments, a historical display and fellowship from 8:30 to 10:00 AM, before proceeding to the march starting location.

8:45 AMUTSA Shuttle Departs Main Campus
Departure from the UTSA Convocation Center, plan to arrive 15 minutes earlier than the scheduled departure time to secure your seat on the shuttle.

9:10 AMUTSA Shuttle Departs Downtown Campus
Departure from the Durango Lot (corner of Cesar Chavez and Pecos/Trinidad, plan to arrive 15 minutes earlier than the scheduled departure time to secure your seat on the shuttle.

9:00 AMPre-March Program
Early arrival attendees can enjoy remarks from dignitaries and community leaders at the march starting location staging area.

9:30 AMUTSA Shuttle Arrives
Shuttle riders proceed to Westside Community Center.

All UTSA marchers are invited to be in our group photo to commemorate the event, then proceed together to the march starting location. A large UTSA banner will be provided for our group to carry in the march. Remember to wear your UTSA gear!

11:15 AMMarch Ends and UTSA Shuttles Depart
Immediately at the conclusion of the march, those riding UTSA campus shuttles will return to campus. Those who would like to enjoy the Hemisfair Park celebration will need to secure their own transportation.

Transportation to the March
Take A Campus Shuttle
UTSA will provide roundtrip transportation from the UTSA Main Campus and Downtown Campus. Plan to arrive 15 minutes earlier than the scheduled departure time to secure your seat on the shuttle.

Return Shuttles
11:15 AM Shuttles will depart immediately following the conclusion of the March.
VIA Park and Ride Bus Service
Participants can access FREE VIA Park and Ride Services to the March from 8:00 to 9:00 AM. Free parking and bus pick-up will be available at the Alamodome, 100 Montana Street, in parking lots B & C.
Buses will return participants to the Alamodome pick-up location until 2:30 pm. Participants may access return service from Old Bowie Street next to the Institute of Texan Cultures, Gate 4.
Planning to Drive Yourself?
If you're planning to drive to the march, please be advised you will need to arrange for your own parking. Meet up with UTSA's delegation at the Westside Community Center by no later than 9:45 a.m. to be in our group photo. Arrive earlier to take advantage of breakfast refreshments and our historical display.
