Recovery of Assets Lost Due to Theft by Employees

Those persons terminated from employment by the University for theft, destruction, or misappropriation of University assets are subject to criminal prosecution in the appropriate court of law. The court has the ultimate authority and jurisdiction to grant restitution to the University upon conviction. An initial referral report is forwarded to the Office of the Vice President for Business Affairs, Human Resources, and Chief of Police and the Office of General Counsel. Updated reports are sent to each of the offices as the investigation progresses and a final report is forwarded to each upon its conclusion.
