Automobile Liability

The automobile insurance policy provides liability coverage for those automobiles owned and operated by the University. (The proof of insurance coverage certificate is not required to be carried in University owned vehicles.) The policy currently carries a $2,500 deductible per occurrence. Policy limits are:

1. Bodily Injury
   1. $250,000 per person:
   2. $500,000 per occurrence; and
2. Property Damage
   1. $100,000 per occurrence.

Hired/Non-Owned

This policy provides liability coverage (secondary coverage to an individual's personal policy) for employees using their personal vehicle for business use. This policy also provides liability, comprehensive and collision coverage on short-term rental vehicles, including those rented by employees outside the System rental car agreement in force.

Policy limits are:

1. Bodily Injury
   1. $250,000 per person;
   2. $500,000 per occurrence;
2. Property Damage
   1. $100,000 per occurrence.

(Please note, there is as $2,500 deductible on liability, $0 deductible on the comprehensive and $500 on the collisions coverage.) Institutional rentals must be reported to System Administration at the time of rental to be included under this policy.

Mexico Coverage

Mexico coverage for automobiles is provided on an as needed basis. Coverage is to be secured through the Business and Administrative Services Office in order to ensure sufficient and consistent coverage.
