May 1, 2024 -- Isolated to scattered strong to severe storms are forecast for this afternoon through tonight. Locally heavy rain could lead to flooding. Large hail and damaging winds are the primary threats.

As you know, conditions and timing of severe weather can change. Stay alert and continue to monitor local news sources for the most up to date information, including weather updates, street closures, highway conditions and the CPS Energy outage map.

Campus Preparations

UTSA campuses are scheduled to remain open at this time. Outdoor activities and events should monitor the weather and be prepared to disperse in the event of heavy rain or lightning. Departments with outdoor operations should secure loose objects (A-frame signs, floor mats, banners, construction site equipment, etc.) due to potential windy conditions. For insurance purposes, be prepared to document any damages related to inclement weather by taking photos, retaining receipts, etc.
