Alliance Meeting held at UTSA December, 2007
The third annual meeting of the Alliance for the International Study of Texts and Literacy (AISTL) was held in San Antonio with key collaborators from the USA and South Africa. Meetings were held to continue the understanding of the National Writing Project and the ways that can be applied to the Ithuba Writing Centers.
Inquiry questions were prepared for the next print set, the Ithuba Overview Guide was constructed, Implementing Stories were developed, content experts were prepared with the next set of teacher guides, the Implementation Study Protocol was established, the Ithuba Writing Project Implementation Kit and the Ithuba Writing Centers Proposal was developed.
Workshop Goals and Outcomes
Vusi Malindi, Ithuba Art Director, meet with local artists and visited art programs in San Antonio area. Workshop Participants Dr. Misty Sailors, Dr. Jim Hoffman, Dr. Mathee, Dr. Mdluli, Dr. Lehetie Makalela, Dr. Deborah Horan, Malindi and Durham traveled to University of Berkeley to visit with Dr. David Pearson, Dr. Gina Cervetti, and Dr. Robert Sterling.
