Main Building Envelope Repair & Restoration

Summary

The highly anticipated project will improve the Main Building by eliminating water intrusion. Building occupants can look forward to repairs and restoration that address long-standing water leaks in the roof, windows and building envelope.

The project scope includes the repair and replacement of the roof, replacement of flashing around windows, gutter repairs and replacement of windows. Once completed, these repairs will support an enhanced learning and working environment.

Project Overview

Parking

Scaffolding will be erected on the exterior of the building. This will affect some pedestrian pathways and a small number of parking spaces in Bauerle Road Lot 2 and in front of the Main Building.

Parking around the Main Building will be monitored throughout the duration of construction to determine if adjustments become necessary. Contact Campus Services for parking questions.

ADA Parking

Main Building construction and scaffolding set up will affect some ADA spaces. Temporary parking closures during construction include all spaces south of the Main Building and some spaces east of the Main Building.

ADA spaces will remain available through construction east of the Main Building and in the Bauerle Road Garage. Additionally, entrances to the Main Building are ADA complaint and will be accessible.

Main Building Envelope Repair & Restoration Project to Begin Mid-July 2021

A project to improve the Main Building by eliminating water intrusion begins mid-July and will continue through the fall 2021 and spring 2022 semesters. The project will include roof and window replacements.

Building occupants may encounter noise during construction, particularly those who occupy upper levels. If you are in an office that will be directly affected by construction, you will be notified in advance and provided with a detailed schedule.
