Student Employment Opportunities

Academic Support Programs recruits academically-achieving students who enjoy supporting their fellow students to be successful in their classes.

With starting pay at $12 per hour, we recruit for the following academic support positions:

• Athletics tutor - tutor one-on-one by appointment
• Floor tutor - tutor one to three students per session either by appointment or walk-in
• Supplemental Instruction Leader or STARS tutor - facilitate three collaborative group study sessions per week

Eligibility Requirements

For all positions the following eligibility requirements must be met:

• Enrolled as a UTSA student
• Completed 24 hours of course credit
• Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
• B or higher in assigned course or subject
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Successful completion of a criminal background check
• Letter of recommendation from a UTSA faculty member

Additional requirements for the SI Leader position:

• Available to work a minimum of 10 hours per week

Additional requirements for tutor positions:

• Athletics tutor - hours vary by semester
• Floor tutor - available to work a minimum of 8 hours per week
• STARS tutor - available to work a minimum of 10 hours per week
