Services for People with Disabilities

Services are available to those attending the Commencement Ceremonies who may require specific accommodations based on a disability. Several services are available to those attending the Commencement Ceremonies who may require specific accommodations based on a disability.

Accommodations for those who are deaf and hard of hearing:

Sign language interpreting services for guests who are deaf or hard of hearing will be available in a reserved seating section located in section s 108 and 109.

Accommodations for those with limited mobility:

If you are in a wheelchair, Alamodome Staff will provide assistance to take you to and from your seat. Additionally, the Alamodome Staff will have wheelchairs available to assist in transporting guests with limited mobility to their seating. Reserved seating is marked for those requiring wheelchair-seating accommodations and for those with limited mobility at the top of the plaza level of the Alamodome seating.

Following the ceremony, Alamodome Staff will also assist guests in returning to the exits. These wheelchairs are available for assisted transport only and not available for use by an individual guest for the duration of the ceremony. Guests with limited mobility may enter at the south entrance plaza level of the Alamodome.

Due to high demand and limited space, the reserved seating area is restricted to the person with the disability and a max of 3 guests. Additional members of your party should sit in regular public seating areas.

Wheelchair Assistance

If you are in a wheelchair, assistance will be available to take you to and from your seat. Wheelchairs will be provided by the Alamodome (not UTSA). Disabled guests may enter at the south entrance and plaza level of the Alamodome.

Reserved parking:

There are 55 designated Disability Access (DA) spaces available at no charge on a first-come, first-served basis for vehicles with a valid Disabled Person ID placard (blue or red) or license plate. These spaces are located in Lot A (See map below)

After the 55 DA spaces have filled, any spaces that can be made available for DA parking in Lot A will be charged the event parking rate.

Drop-Off/Pick-up: For Guests with Disabilities ONLY

There is no charge for dropping-off or picking-up in Lot A. Even when the parking lots have filled up, the Drop-Off area in Lot A will be available for vehicles with a Disabled Person ID placard or license plate. Please enter Lot A off the frontage road entrance. Alamodome staff is not allowed to assist unloading/loading of passengers. All transfers from the vehicle will be the responsibility of the persons in the vehicle.
