UTSA announces push to raise half a billion dollars — and it’s more than halfway there

The University of Texas at San Antonio announced the second — and largest — fundraising effort in its 53-year history late Thursday, a $500 million goal officials aim to reach by 2027.
The “Be Bold Campaign for Our Future” opens the public phase of a capital campaign quietly underway since 2017 that has raised $311 million in gifts and pledges supporting student scholarships, faculty endowments, new buildings and more.
UTSA President Taylor Eighmy called it a powerful and historic moment for the university and its students, who numbered more than 34,000 this year.
