2007 Ithuba Activities--cont.
In December 2007 workshop #4 was developed. It was called The “Implementing Stories in Schools and Classrooms” workshop. Trainer and delegates notes were developed on how to implement the books in classrooms as well as video clips that would support the delivery of the implementation workshops at the provincial and district level.
Language Coordinator, Carole Bloch, became the liaison among UTSA, READ, Home Language Editors, and Proof Readers in December 2007 and January 2008.
In December 2007 the Development of Evaluation was created as well as instructions on how to transfer the learning from the Ithuba authoring workshops into classroom practices. In early January 2008 we will study the effects of participation in the Ithuba Writing Project has had on the writing instruction of the participating authoring Ithuba teachers.
The program received an additional $2 million in funding for year three.
