Workshop #4: Pilot for “Implementing Stories in Schools and Classrooms” was held March 18th, 19th, and 20th 2008. The implementation workshop piloted with our
120 titles were printed and began distribution in three installments beginning February/March 2008 and will continue through September/October 2008.
A South Africa Site visit was conducted March, 10th- 22, 2008. On March 14th and 15th Dr. Misty Sailors, Molteno, READ and Limpopo Provincial Officers held coaching workshops in Polokwane.
collaborating partners on how to implement the books in classrooms as well as video clips that will help support the delivery of the implementation workshops at the provincial and district level. In attendance Dr. Misty Sailors, Dr. Jim Hoffman, READ, Molteno, DoE representatives.
In April, May, and July a repeat of workshops #1-3 was held as a way to gather the remaining 15 titles to complete the targeted number of 120 books. UTSA facilitated by READ. The teachers selected for this workshop were based on missing titles from the prioritized languages and those teachers who would also participate in the pilot writing instruction evaluation.
