Intersection Update: Bauerle Road and East Campus Drive
Roadrunners, please be aware that a notable traffic pattern change will take place on the Main Campus this month. Beginning Sept. 22, the intersection at Bauerle Road and East Campus Drive will change from a four-way stop to a two-way stop with a light-up pedestrian crosswalk. Traffic will flow continuously on Bauerle Road when the crosswalk is not in use. This update is designed to improve traffic flow while keeping pedestrians safe.
If you’re walking, remember to follow these steps when using the crosswalk:
- Press the crosswalk button.
- Wait for the yellow flashing lights to change to solid red, signaling that traffic has stopped on Bauerle Road.
- Listen for the audible “WALK SIGN IS ON” message.
- Look both ways and safely cross the street.
If you’re driving, please slow down, remain alert and always yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk. Watch for flashing lights and be prepared to stop when they turn solid red.
This change is part of UTSA’s ongoing commitment to campus safety and is based on the results of a recent campus traffic study to improve traffic flow around the East Campus Road. Thank you for doing your part to keep our community safe.
