Secure Shredding Event Supports Sustainability Efforts

November 12, 2025

Protect sensitive information by taking part in this year’s secure shredding event. The Real Estate and Property Management team invites all faculty and staff to drop off sensitive work- or school-related documents for secure disposal from 8-11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19.

Bring your documents in bankers boxes to one of two convenient locations:

  • Main Campus: Parking lot between the H-E-B Student Union and the Ximenes Avenue Garage
  • Downtown Campus: Mailroom (Durango Building, room 0.104)

Documents being shredded must meet the university’s records records retention schedule before disposal.

By participating, you’ll not only safeguard sensitive data; you’ll also help reduce paper waste and contribute to the university’s sustainability goals. Every box of shredded materials supports the university’s mission to create a more secure, sustainable campus while reinforcing positive habits, such as recycling paper waste.

How to participate:

  1. Review the records retention schedule to ensure your materials are eligible for shredding.
  2. Pack all documents in bankers boxes.
  3. Drop them off during the event hours at your preferred campus location.

Mark your calendar for Nov. 19 to shred smart, recycle right and help keep sensitive university documents secure!
