The Annual Police Appreciation Day was held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at all three shift change meetings. Collaborating departments provided goodie bags, thank you notes, cards and posters of thanks and support for their service. This annual event allowed the students and staff to provide appreciation and personal examples of the help, service, education, and support our police provide to our campus community.
Campus Departments and groups included: Student Affairs Council, Vice President for Student Affairs, Student Activities, Student Health, Equal Opportunity Services, Campus Recreation & Wellness, Counseling Services, Special Events, Ambassadors, Campus Living Villages, Intercollegiate Athletics, Housing & Residence Life, Child Development Center, University Center, Student Center for Community Engagement and Inclusion, Student Leadership, Student Life, and Student Conduct and Community Standards.

Adreanna Broussard was recently at the NIRSA National Basketball Tournament at North Carolina State, April 17-19. She was among 56 other student officials from across the country, all of whom received invitations to work the national tournament through their outstanding performances at regional tournaments earlier this year. The officials worked over 160 tournament games, participated in training sessions from top collegiate officials, and received feedback after every game from courtside evaluators.
At the end of the final day of the tournament, eight officials were honored as the weekend’s best and received All-Tournament honors. Adreanna was selected as one of the top eight All-Tournament officials, and was also head official in the women’s championship game.

Please pass on our appreciation to the Ambassadors that volunteered at the ring ceremony — simply put, they did an amazing job!
They were professional, courteous, required little instruction and stayed on task throughout. They certainly helped enhance the overall feel and function of the ceremonies.

To everyone who worked so hard on UTSA 2015 Commencement ceremonies, I am sending my thanks.
As a newcomer to UTSA, Saturday's COLFA/Engineering ceremony was my first. I was so impressed with the smooth organization, even down to the faculty buses.
It was a more joyous and artistic commencement than I have ever experienced. I particularly appreciated the fact that, unlike my former institution, UTSA does not regulate student's decorations on their caps, which lends a colorful and individual note.
The fireworks, the mariachi band, everything was just delightful.
Thanks for all your hard work at giving students and families some wonderful memories.

Yesterday was my first session in the Alamodome, and I thought it went very well, especially with the large numbers we had. You and your staff did a great job in organizing and executing the event! Congratulations on a job well-done!
