Annual Performance Evaluation Tips & Reminders for People Leaders
Editor's note: The following message was sent today via email from Talent Management to all People Leaders.
Summer is here, which means the next phase of our annual performance evaluation process is fast approaching. To ensure you are prepared to provide a smooth evaluation process for you and your teams, please review the important tips and reminders below.
Self-Evaluations and Manager Evaluations
At this time, the performance evaluation should be open and visible in ePerformance to employees and supervisors. We encourage all employees—including supervisors—to begin adding comments and attachments that support evidence of performance and goal achievement. Adding information now supports a smooth year-end process.
Important Dates
Employee self-evaluations are due August 9, with manager evaluations due August 31. In September, we will participate in the calibration process, followed by one-on-one meetings to discuss evaluations with employees in October.
To view a detailed timeline, visit the Performance Management website.
Recent Hires and Probationary Employees
Classified, benefits-eligible employees hired on or after March 1, 2023, will only be assigned a probationary review for this performance year. All probationary employees should be assigned a rating as part of the final step of the probationary evaluation. This step includes supervisor approval prior to sharing the evaluation with the employee.
Administrative and Professional (A&P) employees hired on or after June 1, 2023 will not be assigned an annual evaluation until the next performance cycle.
